Who We Are

Nyiragongo Expedition curates tailor-made East Africa journeys focused on gorilla trekking, wildlife safaris, volcanic landscapes, and regional cultural experiences.

The company was founded by its CEO, BYAMUNGU KASOLE MOSES, with a vision to deliver professionally coordinated and deeply personal travel experiences across East Africa.

We design routes across Rwanda, Uganda, DR Congo, Kenya, Tanzania, and Burundi with careful attention to permits, road logistics, border transitions, accommodation quality, and realistic pacing.

Our approach is to build journeys around the traveler rather than forcing the traveler into a fixed package. That means balancing destination ambition with comfort, timing, and what you most want to experience on the ground.

Whether the trip is centered on mountain gorillas, a luxury safari circuit, Nyiragongo volcano trekking, or a broader multi-country East Africa journey, the planning is shaped to feel clear, personal, and professionally coordinated.

Our offices serve travelers from Gisenyi, Rwanda, Kampala, Uganda, and Goma, DR Congo. Head Office: Gisenyi, Rwanda.

How We Work

Professional Planning Principles

  • Design each journey around the traveler, not around a fixed brochure format.
  • Match route ambition to realistic comfort, road time, and trekking ability.
  • Build trust through transparent planning, not through generic promises.
  • Keep the experience personal, polished, and grounded in local knowledge.

Why Clients Choose Us

A More Credible Way To Build East Africa Trips

This section focuses on the things that actually build trust: route logic, execution quality, and clear communication rather than generic travel adjectives.

Planning

Routes Built Around Real Travel Conditions

We do not plan East Africa trips as abstract package grids. We shape them around road time, flight links, trekking effort, permit timing, border flow, and how the traveler actually wants the journey to feel.

Experience

Private Journeys With Regional Depth

The focus is on meaningful combinations: gorilla trekking with safari, volcanic terrain with cultural stops, or premium wildlife circuits with recovery time built in. The trip should feel coherent, not stitched together.

Execution

Clear Logistics From Arrival To Departure

Permits, transfers, airport pickup, hotel handovers, and communication matter just as much as destination choice. Professional execution is what turns a good route into a dependable travel experience.

BYAMUNGU KASOLE MOSES

Nyiragongo Expedition was founded by its CEO, BYAMUNGU KASOLE MOSES, whose leadership helps shape the company vision, route standards, and the guest experience the brand aims to deliver across East Africa.

The company approach is built around practical regional knowledge: permit handling, realistic route pacing, strong local coordination, and private journeys that feel personal rather than generic.

Guests trust safari planners more when the people behind the routes, standards, and service mindset are visible. That accountability matters just as much as the itinerary itself.

What Guests Say

What stood out most was the pacing. The camp progression, driving times, and wildlife focus felt considered instead of generic, and the trip stayed comfortable even with multiple parks involved.

Sophie M.

The planning support was practical from the first call. We got honest advice on timing, fitness, and route conditions, which mattered a lot for a trip built around the volcanic side of the region.

David K.

Our route moved cleanly from Kigali to gorilla trekking and then into Uganda without feeling rushed. The permit handling, road pacing, and lodge choices made the whole trip feel very easy to manage.
