On your way to Kigali several stops will be made to admire the scenery. Rwanda is also known as the ‘Land of a thousand hills’. The golden monkeys live only in the Virunga Conservation Area and have well habituated into 2 troops. The Kabatwa troop is located not so far from the Park headquarters and the Musanga troop lives near the Mount Karisimbi and has a much longer walking distance, another experience with excellent photo opportunities. Day 5: Kigali Visit and Departure
Your guide will pick you up at your hotel, and head for a Kigali city tour including the Genocide Memorial center at Gisozi. The most important Genocide Memorials are those of Kigali (Gisozi) where the history of the genocide is explained. A visit to the genocide memorial is for most visitors an emotional event. Later transfer to the Airport for your departure.

TOUR LOCATION

The most ultimate experience of Rwanda’s wildlife, Gorillas & golden monkeys combined with a visit to the twin lakes & hiking Mount Bisoke.

History of the City

“In the heart of Central Africa, so high up that you shiver more than you sweat,” wrote the eminent primatologist Dian Fossey, “are great, old volcanoes towering almost 15,000 feet, and nearly covered with rich, green rainforest – the Virungas.” Situated in the far northwest of Rwanda, Volcanoes National Park protects the steep slopes of this magnificent mountain range – home of the endangered mountain gorilla and a rich mosaic of montane ecosystems, which embrace evergreen and bamboo forest, open grassland, swamp and heath. Volcanoes National Park is named after the chain of dormant volcanoes making up the Virunga Massif: Karisimbi – the highest at 4,507m, Bisoke with its verdant crater lake, Sabinyo, Gahinga and Muhabura.

I cannot speak highly enough about our 3 week trip to this place and the services provided by this travel company. Everything was seamless. The private guides were interesting and knowledgable. We felt that they were more than just guides. It was like we had a friend in each city.
